Inspections and Certifications
At Ontario Medical Oxygen Services (OMOS), we take cylinder safety and regulatory compliance extremely seriously. Our rigorous inspections and certifications program makes sure that every gas cylinder, tank, and delivery system we supply meets or exceeds Canadian safety standards — so you can trust your equipment every time you use it.
Built to Comply with Canadian Standards
All medical gas cylinders supplied by OMOS are designed, inspected, tested, and re qualified in compliance with CSA B339 / CSA B340 standards and Transport Canada / TDG regulations. These standards govern the safe manufacture, transport, testing, and maintenance of compressed gas cylinders in Canada, ensuring that containers remain safe to fill, store, and use.
We only use cylinders legally registered under these standards (marked “TC” or other recognized certification marks), to guarantee compliance and safety.
Regular Hydrostatic and Visual Testing
Safety requires more than just initial certification. OMOS performs hydrostatic and ultrasonic testing, along with thorough visual inspections, on every cylinder before it is filled and refilled. This ensures structural integrity and verifies that the cylinder can safely withstand the high pressures required for medical gases.
Retesting schedules in Canada require
- Aluminum cylinders: every 5 years
- Steel cylinders: every 10 years
Comprehensive Record-Keeping and Traceability
Compliance isn’t just about testing — it’s about documentation. OMOS maintains detailed records for each cylinder, including manufacturing data, certification date, test results, and maintenance history. As part of our standard operating procedures, we retain purity certifications, gas chromatograms, and inspection logs, in compliance with Health Canada regulations.

When you partner with OMOS, you’re not just getting gas — you’re getting peace of mind. Our inspection and certification protocol guarantees that every cylinder, delivery system, or emergency oxygen kit you receive is:
