Annual Client Inspections and Calibration

Regulatory Standards (RCDSO, CVO, CSA, Transport Canada)

Our oxygen delivery systems, medical gas equipment, and therapeutic devices meet rigorous Canadian safety and performance standards defined by CSA Group. For example, our oxygen concentrators and related respiratory equipment comply with the standard for medical electrical equipment – Part 2 69 (basic safety and essential performance for oxygen concentrators).

Our inspection of portable nitrous oxide and portable emergency oxygen systems checks every component: verifying oxygen flow rates, testing pressure regulators, ensuring alarm and safety systems respond properly, and confirming that all measuring instruments (flow meters, sensors, gauges) are accurate.
Also, calibration is performed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and national guidelines — with documented records for traceability. Our commitment to strict, routine inspection and calibration protects the integrity of your treatment — because your health and safety deserve nothing less.
When installed as part of a medical gas supply or pipeline system, our systems meet the requirements of standards such as CAN/CSA Z7396.1 for medical gas pipelines.

Handling and transport of medical oxygen comply with federal regulations under Transport Canada and the relevant dangerous goods rules for compressed gases. Oxygen is classified under non flammable, non toxic gas categories, and all cylinders and portable concentrators are maintained, labeled, stored, and transported according to applicable legal requirements.
By adhering to these standards and working within the regulatory frameworks of federal and provincial authorities, OMOS ensures that every aspect — from equipment to delivery and transport — maintains compliance, safety, and peace of mind for our clients.

Safety Audits

Ontario Medical Oxygen Services conducts regular, comprehensive safety audits to ensure that every aspect of our oxygen delivery, medical gas systems, and therapeutic devices meet strict safety and quality standards. These audits review equipment operation, storage, transport and maintenance protocols — verifying that flow rates, pressure regulators, delivery systems and alarms are functioning correctly, and that all medical gas handling follows recognized best practices.

People’s Safety Comes First

Our audit process also covers documentation, staff training, storage conditions, labeling and regulatory compliance. For systems involving medical gas piping or concentrators, we follow inspection guidelines consistent with third party accreditation standards in Canada for medical gas installations. When deviations or irregularities are discovered, we act promptly to correct them — updating and re testing equipment, retraining staff where needed, and maintaining full records of corrective action. These audits occur on consistent, scheduled intervals and whenever new equipment is installed.
